PSA # 1: FAIR TRADE
ANNCR: The Family Advocacy Program and this station -- your companions for
the holidays.
WOMAN 'S VOICE: I'm great at a lot of things, but I'm always running out
of ideas on what to do with the kids when they are out of school. So imagine
my surprise when my friend Maria called me and offered to take the kids
to that new holiday movie! Well, I didn't dare say yes, but you know what
she said? She asked me if I could make her one of my famous banana breads
in return. I told her, "Maria -- you've got a deal."
ANNCR: Taking some time off to share with friends and their kids during
the holidays can be both fun and helpful. For more information on giving
parents and their kids a hand any time of the year, call The Family Advocacy

PSA # 2: NEIGHBORHOOD SANTA
ANNCR 1: The Family Advocacy Program and this station -- your companions
for the holidays.
WOMAN: When I was little, one of our neighbors used to dress up as Santa,
come to our houses on Christmas Eve, and give us each a present. It was
great. I used to love it. So I was thinking that maybe we could get one
of our friends around here to dress up as Santa for the kids in our neighborhood
this Christmas Eve. What do you think?
ANNCR: Taking time to be with your friends and their kids can be both fun
and helpful, and makes the season brighter for everyone. For more information
on giving parents and kids a hand at any time of the year, call The Family

PSA # 3: TAKING THE KIDS OUT
ANNCR 1: The Family Advocacy Program and this station -- your companions
for the holidays.
ANNCR 2: The holidays are here, and that means the busiest time of the year
is, too. Everyone's running around shopping and getting things ready, and
then -- the kids come home until next year! Of course we all love our kids and
are happy to have them home, but it can get pretty hectic. Why not give
a parent you know a breather and take the kids sledding, or maybe to a kids'
movie? Give parents a break this holiday season. It's that easy.

PSA # 4: CHRISTMAS HELP FOR PARENTS: WATCH KIDS
ANNCR 1: The Family Advocacy Program and this station -- your companions
for the holidays.
ANNCR 2: The holidays are special times for families and friends. But it
gets hard to get all your shopping, baking, cooking, cleaning, wrapping,
decorating, and everything else done when the kids get home from school...
and don't go back until next year! So take some time off for yourself and someone
you know, and watch their kids while they go shopping. Help to make the
holidays as special as we all dream they are!

for the holidays.
MAN: Happy holidays, Judy! Ready for the kids to be going back to school?
WOMAN: Does it show?
MAN: I know exactly how you feel. I love my kids more than anything, but
they've got a LOT more energy than I do. Hey, my brother and I are taking
our kids sledding Saturday. Why don't yours come along? It'll be a great
afternoon, and they'll get to see their friends.
WOMAN: I would love to relax for a few hours Are you sure you wouldn't mind?
MAN: I wouldn't ask if I did! We'll pick them up at eleven.
WOMAN: Then let's work something out where your kids come to our house later
in the week.

ANNCR 1: The Family Advocacy Program and this station -- your companions
for the holidays.
ANNCR 2: The holidays are special times for families and friends. They're
also a good excuse to invite someone over who you don't often get to see.
So have a family you know over for dinner. Be sure to make one of your favorite
meals. Take a little time to spend with people you don't see as much as
you want to! Share yourself and the spirit of the season!

IN BACKGROUND OF WOMAN #2.)
WOMAN #1: So how are you doing, Barb? How are your holidays?
WOMAN #2: (SIGHS) Okay. These kids, though. I love them more than anything,
but I just don't know what to do with them all this time they're home. I've
done everything I can think of.
WOMAN #1: My Josh has been asking when he can see his friends while he's
home. Why don't your boys come over tomorrow afternoon? They can all play
in the snow or something.
WOMAN #2: Kristen, you're an angel. I've got so much to do to get the house
ready for our relatives, and I just didn't know what I was going to do about
the kids! Tell you what -- next week I'll take them all to that new kids'
movie.

ANNCR 1: The Family Advocacy Program and this station -- your companions
for the holidays.
ANNCR 2: The holidays are special times for families and friends. But for
some parents, they can be hectic, depressing, rough, and overwhelming. You
can help a stressed parent this holiday season! If a child you know shares
his wish list with you, see if there's something you can do to make one
of those wishes come true. Help parents make this time of year as special
as we all dream it is!

fun and helpful. For more information on giving parents and their kids a

WOMAN #1: (LAUGHS) Uh, oh. I'll bet the kids are getting you pretty frazzled.
WOMAN #2: You could say that.
WOMAN #1: Hey, we've got some kids' movies at home. Why don't you all come
over tomorrow afternoon -- they can watch whatever they want, and you and
I can have some coffee and relax! How does that sound?

WOMAN #1: Come at twelve and we'll have lunch.
