Defence for Children International UN Rules for Protection of Juveniles LIMITATIONS OF PHYSICAL RESTRAINT AND THE USE OF FORCE
The carrying and use of weapons by personnel in facilities where juveniles are detained is prohibited. Instruments of restraint and force may only be used in exceptional cases and only as explicitly authorised and specified by law and regulation. Such instruments should not cause humiliation or degradation. If such an instrument is used, the director of the administration should immediately consult medical and other relevant personnel and report to the higher administrative authority. |
