The seminar will be co-directed by Dr Camille San Lazaro, Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Forensic Medicine at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Inspector Ric Wood, member of the Child & Family Protection Unit, Durham Consatbulary.
This seminar aims to tackle how law enforcement agencies and health professionals can develop strategies to ensure that the principles ratified by the United Nations are out into practice in their own countries. The seminar will bring together professionals to exchange information and discuss specific issues in a cultural context.
Over the five day seminar, delegates will be introduced to different theories connected to the investigation of sexual crimes against children. This will be done through a series of keynote addresses and workshops. In addition, there will be opportunity for small-group discussion. A main component of the seminar will be the sharing of individual and collective expertise and experience.
